PROFILE

Paul is a (computational media) artist and has been engaged and researching into idiosyncratic areas that cross boundaries of art, science and technology since 1991. He is currently working with projects exploring intersections and contestations between the cognitive sciences, sociomaterialism, figuration and mythology that are examining notions of personhood and the human condition.

His work has appeared at Sonar, Festival Garage, The Centre Of Contemporary Culture , The Readme Festival , Transmediale, The Royal Academy Arts, and others

 


NEWS / RECENT ACTIVITIES

September 2008

Working in collaboration with Silvia Cristo we have been creating 3D work and collage to be used for a live captured video projected backdrop for Ijad Dance Company's new work, "2B3D", which will be premiered at Chisenhale Dance Space, Friday 26th September as part of the Cloud Dance Festival.

A new version of Cellular Grid Machine for OSX, a virtual-machine mechanism that just-so-happens-to spit out music from its auto mutating 16x16 multi-directional grid

Having written a new audio work for voice and digital sounds there are some performances. Noise=Noise, The Foundry 1st Dec, and Saint Nicolas Church, Ipswich, 15th December, 2007.

October 2007

Exhibition at The Toilet Gallery, as part of GuerlillaZoo's, Rules Of Modern Engagement, Kingston Upon Thames, 5th-27th October, showing The Sky Will Fall Down. Generative weather systems exploring notions of a fragile pychic conditions and religous experiences.
