About the Artist
(Born 1968, UK),
Paul has been directing interactive and multimedia
art projects and developing experimental sound software
since 1991. Initially working with algorithmic and generative sound
systems, his work has developed and expanded to encompass
a diverse range of work including soundwork, interactive music
systems, the visual arts and software art. He has colloborated
with many artists over the years including film makers, animators,
political artists, graphic artists and choreographers. He holds
a BSc in Software Engineering and an MA in Digital Art. His work
has appeared at international festivals and spaces including The
Royal Academu Of Arts, Sonar, Transmediale, Festival Garage, ReadMe,
Sonic Arts Network, the Victoria and Albert Museum, Centre Of Contemporary
Culture/Museum Of Modern Art(Barcelona) and the World Museum (Liverpool).
Currently he is working on narrative based
installations using forms of synthetic characters which are exploring
intersections between cognitive science, machine intelligence,
mythology, pure scenography and the human condition. A possible
space where the Logos and the Mythos collide.
